Hello, I have jailbroken my phone to 1.1.1 and have everything working fine (except the phone of course). The only problem is Itunes recognizes it ok, but I can't transfer any songs from my Itunes library to my Iphone. I drag songs from my library to the Iphone icon in Itunes but it just doesn't do anything. I am a mac user, any ideas?

Thanks in advance

in itunes click on the music icon. Then file. then go to add file or folder. thats how you add music to itunes. then when your phone is connected, you choose the files or whole music folder.

I already have songs in my library on my Mac. For my Ipod video I would just drag the songs or album to the Ipod icon and they would transfer, but when I do that with my Iphone plugged in, it doesn't do anything.

Do your songs show on itunes? if so, well on mine anyway. when the iphone is connected. i click on the iphone and check off under the music tab within the iphone that songs are synced. also check your itunes version

im using 7.5.0.20 for an itunes version

I figured it out, you can't use Disk mode for the Iphone, so I need to let it auto sync. Thanks for the timely replies!

You don't have to let it "auto-sync" necessarily. You can click on the iphone icon and then under the multiple tabs it gives you a choice to not autosync. Then you manually select, under the music tab, which songs, folders, playlists etc you want to sync then click the sync button.

Dangit. I got so excited when I found this thead because I am having the EXACT same problem. Just my luck though turning off the disk mode didn't fix mine. When I drag a song from my library in itunes to drop it into the iphone I get a black cancel circle. So pretty much I have NO WAY to xfer ringtones or anything to my newly tricked out iphone because ibrickr doesn't work with my version i guess. Could someone please help me??

well dude, I was dragging and dropping songs in iTunes for many weeks before I modded my iphone and the drag and drop still works fine on my ipods. Maybe you can't on a mac or something but i've always drug songs from my library onto the playlists of my ipod. Thanks for the help though. I will seriously paypal someone some cash if they can help me with this. Thanks

ok, you're both right !

If you activate Sync on your first machine, then remove the auto-sync after, you can drag & drop all you want (I'm doing it now, and it works!). The problem starts when you use, say, your laptop afterwards (so a second machine). You can't drag & drop anymore even if this second machine is set to manual sync (and yes, I set manual sync on the first machine as well --- still won't sync).

I'm using iTunes 8.02 on both machines.

So in the end, you're both right, one can & one can't. So go back to your original machine you used to setup your iphone if u need to manually manage stuff.

Apple, shame on u.

Another way to use drag & drop is to create a new playlist locally, then drag & drop all you want to that one, and use the SYNC to get it to your iphone... not as pleasant, but it works.

Cheers. (did I say Apple, shame on u? )

i had the same problem but just figured out how to fix mine at least. click on the iphone in the side bar and click summary in the top left hand side of the window. in the screen there are three options of how to sync music/videos/ringtones etc. i had to select the "manually manage music and videos" before mine would work. itunes told me that i had already had my iphone synced to another library (im assuming that was the library the phone recognized before i jailbroke) good luck to anyone having problems.
