A few days back, some pictures showed up on Flickr with EIXF data documenting them as having been taken with an iPhone, which read as follows:
Camera: Apple iPhone
Aperture: f/2.8
Orientation: Rotated 90 degrees clockwise
Date and Time: 2007:04:21 10:23:45
Color Space: sRGB
Tag::EXIF::0xA500: 11/5
Compression: JPEG
Image Width: 1600 pixels
Image Height: 1200 pixels
If this is true, then they would be the first publicly known pictures taken on the upcoming smartphone. Since their appearance, the internet has been buzzing with the news.

Their image quality is strikingly good for a 2-megapixel camera, and, if authentic, would indicate that the iPhone will have no trouble competing with other camera-phones in its corner of the market.
The pictures were marked as private and removed from Flikr soon after. Though it would be pleasant to believe in their authenticity as it would put worries about the camera's image quality to rest, one has to wonder how the taker of the pictures even got their hands on an iPhone, much less got it into a café… and why in the world they would take pictures of an unusual person enjoying toast and glowing racks of meat!
