I followed the instructions on iphone.unlock.no and used iUnlock to unlock my iPhone (1.0.2)
While unlocking, the iUnlock programme completed successfully but, the baseband flashing from minicom -- AT+CLCK="PN",0,"00000000" -- failed

Does this mean than the baseband on my iPhone is not screwed up ? Is only the firmware updated and hence the phone is unlocked ?

Just curious while I wait for the 1.1.1 upgrade mechanism for 1.0.2 unlocked phones.

I am unsure if it touched your baseband at all. If it did NOT, then you can just reflash the firmware back to 1.0.2 with itunes, and you will still be at virgin state. Then you can upgrade to 1.1.1 using itunes and use the new AnySim 1.1 to unlock. This is if you want to use AnySim method that modifies the baseband.

If you dn't want to use the anysim method that modifies that baseband, then check out SimFree.

Are you saying that iUnlock only updates the firmware and NOT the baseband ?
Does this mean that the baseband need not be flashed to unlock the phone ?
I thought that AnySim was just a GUI wrapper around the iUnlock.app and the subsequent baseband update commands using minicom

There's too much conflicting information around
