HI all,

I understand what I've done was very stuppid but now it's done and I need to find a way of unbricking my iphone.

I've renamed the user mobile on the passwd file via SSH, now my iphone (2g) won't boot and I'm unable to restore with Itunes.

I've attempted to restore a few different firmwares:
1.1
2.2.1
3.1.2 Orig
3.1.2 Custom (using pwnage and redsnow)

I've attempted different itnues versions:
7.7
8.0.2
8.2
9.0.2

On total, I've tried all combination of firmwares and itunes from this list, using normal and DFU restore modes.

I get a few different errors, depending on the combination of itunes/firmware. Unfortunately I have not compiled a list with the exact error for the exact software combo.

I think my most common errors are:
1600 when attempting in DFU mode
2005 when attempting normal restore.

I have tried creating a clean account on the mac and different usb ports.
I have not yer tried a different cable and also performing an update on a different mac, I will try this soon.

My most successful attempt was with itunes 7.7 and firmware 3.1.2 orig performing normal firmward (not DFU. you know the one with the itunes + usb cable logo), this was the only combo that actually showed on the iphone the apple logo with the progress bar under it and it moved a little bit (not much, maybe 3%) and on the mac also the progress bar of the installation progressed to about 30%, cannot remember which error I got on this occasion, but if it is relevant let me know and I can attempt this or any of the other combination again and record the exact error

Any help is very much appreciated.
