Ha-Ha-Ha-Ha-Ha-Ha.....

I purchased their app, and what a trash of an app it was, I have since than received a refund from apple.

So, they give you a trash of an app, than say to fork up more hard earned cash for a mount !!!!

Tom-Tom has lost me as a customer, and from the reviews on the app, I see many are jumping in on requesting a refund from apple.

It's already freaking sold out damn it! I don't care, I'm buying it, even after everyone critisized it. Aparently I'm bot the only one thinking this way.

What didn't you like about the TomTom app?

when you touch the screen it takes you to the menu instead of having a menu button and being able to scroll the map......that sucks big time. second the zoom in and out buttons are the size of a flea and when you miss them, it takes you....yep, back to the menu...

NAVIGON is way better.

I like the tap for menu feature of the TomTom. It avoids a cluttered interface but you're definitely right about the zoom buttons. Then again, I don't think you can zoom with Navigon in the 3D mode.

What didn't you like about the TomTom app?

My experience with the Tom Tom app was terrible. I too got a refund on it and am all the happier for it. The TomTom interface was okay, but the performance was not reliable.

The app frequently lost satellite lock all together or showed me at a different location. Often, it would incorrectly show me on the wrong road and start giving me directions to get back onto the road I was actually on. It would so frequently lose satellite lock that I missed turns as a result.

Twice it directed me to get off of the highway only to tell me to get right back onto the highway at the end of the ramp. I attributed that to IQ Routes. When I turned that off, it stopped doing that particular misbehavior.

The program doesn't have Text to Speech of course. Its been out now for several months and has only been given one minor update while all of its competitors have released multiple major updates including TTS. Also, using Contacts is as buggy as can be.

I tried Tom Tom for several weeks including on several business trips. I was not at all happy with it. I put in for a refund and purchased Navigon. I've been using Navigon for over a month now including on several business trips. I have not had ANY of the bizarre problems I had with Tom Tom.

I like the interface on Navigon better than TomTom particularly when you approach an offramp or interchange. I like the integration with the iPod and it hasn't choked on any of my contacts.

I too bought the app and found it unreliable and the interface horrible. CoPilot is much better, has voice commands etc. Plus it's much less money. A mount is nice but you need decent software to use with it!
