firmware update + prepay at&t simcard

I'm actually using another at&t simcard under an expired contract account. Does any one know if updating with the current new firmware (1.1.1) will brick it? or deactivate it? Any instructions to reactivate it afterwards? theres beginning to be very little support for those who activated their phones for non-stock At&T sim cards (yet are still current users of AT&t).

im wondering the same thing i am using a different at&t sim and used paycay / iasign to activate my phone, will the upgrade relock / brick my phone. i have not used any unlocking app

your phone will get bricked if you modified of any kind and i think this including by passing activation with pacay
