Hi,
I have not been able to fully understand the whole activation thing and i hope some one can enlighten me as my new phone is sitting here waiting to be activated or hacked in to activation.
I currently have an att plan (with an expired contract) I am interested in a new iphone plan as it is better than my current blackberry plan.
The question is if i activate the phone and get a new 2 year plan can i later unlock the phone and put any sim in it and use it only as a phone?
My concern is that i will probably want the 2nd or 3rd gen iphone when it comes out.
I would want to put the first gen iphone att activated sim in the newer gen phone.
Then i would like unlock the 1st gen and put my wifes standard att sim in the 1st gen.
Is this possible? or can you only unlock a previously not activated iphone?
