Make the phonedmg folder and download the 1.0.2 firmware into it.

im not really sure why the guy that runs hacktheiphone.com has that name for that folder but as long it works i dont care. If you read his instructions it tells you to create a folder in the c: drive called phonedmg and then download the 1.0.2 firmware zip file and extract all of its contents into the phonedmg folder

I don't mean this in a nasty way, really I don't: but if you're asking this question, you should probably be getting someone else to unlock your phone for you.

Just trying to save you $400... it's a simple process, if you know what you're doing. If you don't, there's a lot of potential to screw up.

I have an iPhone that I got on Saturday. To create the phonedmg folder do I need to sync my iphone with itunes and update the firmware? I've already unlocked it using anysim and I don't want to lose all my data.
