The banners are up in Moscone West for WWDC, six days before the event is scheduled to kick off, and the first photographs have been posted to Flickr, courtesy of Adam Jackson. The theme for this year would appear to be the App Store and the apps inside it.<!--break-->

The banner reads: <i>"One year later. Light-years ahead."</i> It appears to reference the App Store, which was launched roughly a year ago and has become a huge success. Photos showing the rest of the banner can be seen in Adam Jackson's Flicker gallery <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/adamjackson/sets/72157619180454716/" target="_blank">here</a>, where you can also see many of the app icons that have been identified in the photo.
What exactly they will be announcing at the event that has to do with the App Store is still a bit of a mystery.

Maybe it's just me, but think we'll also be seeing the release of a new leopard UI that will be black and space themed. Just because there as SOO many references to space in the new apple ads, in our built in wallpapers, and even on the poster itself
"light years ahead"... but who knows....
