If I lost my 2G and get a 3G, will my iTunes restore to the new 3G

I had the iPhone 2G, and it is missing/stolen :(

I want to get a 3G, but I'm not sure if I can restore all of my 2G settings, data, etc. to the new phone.

Considering the new 3G is jailbroken and unlocked (as was my 2G), will I be able to restore my 2G stuff to the new 3G phone?

Had the same issue, and my 2G iPhone backup restored seemlessly to my new 3G without issue. Hope it helps
