Hey all, just thought I'd share my recent success.
I used to be jail broken a while back, and decided to do it again with my 2G phone.
I had already upgraded the phone through iTunes with 2.2.1 .
I went through the steps and could not get jailbreak to work, and I found this forum.
My setup:
iMac with OS X 10.5.6.
What worked for me:
Simply getting an inexpensive powered USB hub.
After that, the jailbreak worked perfectly and I am back in business making the iPhone what I want it to be.
Hope this helps those with similar problems. and thanks to those who have posted all the hints and suggestions here.
