I Phone 3g 2.2.1 No carrier

Hi i have just followed the unlock and installing procedure on my I phone 3g with 2.2.1. But my carrier 02 is not displayed and the carrier bar isn't present, what is the reason for this. This I phone is a uk phone on an o2 contract.

All sorted for me now, I re-ran the Pwange tool, and deselected the option 'activate phone' which I think is part of step 3, under the general settings section and continued on with the steps as normal. It is working now, and Cydia and additional apps are all there too.

I was not trying to unlock my phone to use another carrier, only so I could use non apple apps.

OK, your instructions was correct !
I have the iPhone working with 2.2.1 with additional apps but use AT&T carrier (ONLY).

PD. Some know how to use ANY carrier ? with 3G.

i am using samsung in plus it is unlocked so you can use any carrier like at&t or Tmobile or just anyone that provides sim card service.
