TomTom 1.2 Update Released, Supports Original iPhone and iPod touch

tomtom.jpg

TomTom today released an update for all versions of its turn-by-turn navigation application for the iPhone. This new version, which we reported on last week, includes quite a few improvements, including support for the original iPhone and all versions of the iPod touch. TomTom v1.2 [App Store, $99.99] also brings iPod player support, text-to-speech, lane guidance, and an updated point of interest database.

When it was released, we reported that TomTom's GPS car kit would not function with a device which lacked its own GPS hardware. Because the new update allegedly adds support for those devices specifically, it appears as though this was a limitation of the app itself and not of the car kit.

A full list of changes follows after the break!
