Sales From Pizza Hut App Reach $1 Million

The Pizza Hut [App Store, Free] iPhone app recently surpassed $1 million in sales, and is currently approaching 1 million downloads. The application lets you order anything from Pizza Hut's menu right from your iPhone. It even includes a fun little game to play while you wait for your food to arrive. Users also get 20% off their entire order if they do it using the app.

“We are extremely excited here about the explosive growth we’ve seen with our iPhone app since its launch 3 months ago—$1 million in sales is pretty substantial for an iPhone app,” said Bernard Acoca, senior director of digital marketing at Pizza Hut, Dallas, TX. “Overall we’re tremendously excited with the momentum the app has and the attention it’s received—it is featured in Apple’s recent television commercial campaign, which is any app developer’s dream scenario."

“IPhone applications capture consumers’ imagination in a way that WAP sites simply can’t do, so the decision to expand to the iPhone was as good one for us,” he added.

You couldn't pay me to eat pizza hut pizza. Ranks right down at the bottom with Dominoes. Nice that they give a big discount however. Their customers win at least. I'll give them an A+ for tech, but not taste.

I like how Pizza Hut tastes, or at least I did the last time I had it. It's been at least 5-6 years. What would keep me from eating it if I wasn't vegan is the INTENSE diarrhea it gives me.
