Rockstar Games to Release Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars to iPhone, iPod Touch This Fall

Software developer Rockstar Games announced that Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars will arrive for Apple's iPhone and iPod touch handsets later this fall. According to Touch Arcade, the game, which is presently available for the Nintendo DS, follows the story of Huang Lee, a young Triad who travels to Liberty City after the mysterious death of his father.

"Chinatown Wars is a perfect match for the iPhone and iPod touch," said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. "We are very excited to bring this incredibly ambitious version of Liberty City, with this level of detail and immersive gameplay on Apple's new gaming platforms."

Specific release dates, system requirements and final pricing have yet to be announced, though the following gameplay footage of the Nintendo DS version can be seen below:

this is all well and good but with most gta and other games they require quick and exact action witch the iphone is not verry good at sorry but i have spent more than i shoud have on clasic games that i love and new games that should be great on the iphone but the killer for 90% of the games to this point is the controls

now if only there was a good case that had a dpad and a few buttons that most games supported in addition to the touch screen i would be for that
