MobileMe Catches Another iPhone Thief

Yet another iPhone thief has been snared by MobileMe. The Journal News reports that Marvin Brown (25) and Christopher Davis (22) were arrested after stealing four iPhones totaling in $3,594 from an Apple Store. The thieves were successfully tracked down and arrested using the built-in GPS tracking feature utilized by the MobileMe feature Find My Phone, which led cops directly to their location.

they should use it here.

The title/article is misleading.

The Journal News article never mentions MobileMe. iPhones aren't the only phones with GPS tracking.

This part is accurate...
"using the built-in GPS tracking feature utilized by the MobileMe feature..."

, but saying that "MobileMe" caught another iPhone thief is a little off.

Credit should be given to GPS tracking, not specifically MobileMe.

Just wanted to add

Though it is thanks to the gps tracking for finding the merchandise, it is only with software that is able to utilize it. A computer is a computer but with out the software its just dead hardware. I hope my thought is clear for you guys to get what i mean. lol

"four iPhones totaling in $3,594 from an Apple Store."

Wow, what? Where can I find this iPhone that retails for $899? It must be amazing.

More quality reporting from iPhone Alley.

Seriously

Man, I used to write things like that when iPA would mess up or whatever, but they would get upset about it and I felt bad. But seriously, I don't know if it's the iPA reporter or the source he got it from, but that can't be right.
