EyeTV Updated, Re-Updated Without 3G Streaming
The last time we told you about Elgato's EyeTV [App Store, $4.99], the app that streams TV to your iPhone from your Mac, version 1.0 had been pulled from the App Store at AT&T's request because of a recently discovered "easter egg" that enabled said streaming over AT&T's 3G network. There's been some confusion since then, but Elgato was nice enough to contact us and straighten things out.
A few websites were reporting earlier today that EyeTV was back and still had 3G streaming, causing a lot of confusion for a lot of people (ourselves included). Since then, Elgato explained to us that version 1.0 was re-released by mistake instead of the 3G-less version. They also restated that the "easter egg" was in fact left in the release version by mistake and was supposed to be removed before it was released.
EyeTV has now been updated to 1.0.1, which does not have 3G streaming functionality.
