Earthworm Jim Released for iPhone

Software developer Gameloft announced the release of Earthworm Jim [App Store, $4.99] for Apple's iPhone and iPod touch handsets on Wednesday. The game is a remake of the action platform classic which tells the story of an ordinary earthworm who is transformed into a musclebound superhero bent on saving Princess What’s-Her-Name from Psy-Crow and Queen Slug-for-a-Butt.

The title boasts 12 different types of enemies and nine bosses, four different styles of gameplay, space racing, cows, 16 levels spanning 10 different environments, four levels of difficulty and iPod access to allow you to listen to your own music instead of the game's remastered soundtrack.

Earthworm Jim for the iPhone and iPod touch retails for $4.99 and requires iPhone OS 2.2.1 or later to install and run.
