'Chorus' Recommends Apps From Friends, Nearby People

With 100,000 apps to chose from, figuring out which ones are worth your attention can be a chore. We'll always do our best to find the gems in the rough for you, but a new app for finding good apps has been released that shows promise. Chorus [App Store, Free] is an app that gives you app recommendations from friends and people around you.

Chorus is similar to Apple's native App Store app, except instead of trying to give you recommendations based on everyone in the App Store put together (who probably have as hard a time as you of finding cool apps), it only gives you recommendations based on a specific group of people that have been explicitly recommended by either friends who use Chorus, nearby Chorus users, or online reviewers and tech journalists (a category it dubs "AppMavens"). You can even chose which group of people you get your recommendations from.

It will probably take a while for it to grow a larger user base to be really effective, but the best way to make that happen sooner rather than later is by pitching in and offering your $0.02.
