AdMob, a firm that supplies advertising services targeting ad-supported iPhone adds, says that between September 15th and 22nd, only 23% of devices running apps with AdMob adds had updated to iPhone OS 3.1. Nonetheless, they say this is "significant update" compared to other releases. 51% of devices exposed to AdMob ads are still running OS 3.0, and 19% are still running v2.2.1, while 7% are still running v2.0 or earlier.
Not surprisingly, the likelihood of a user updating the OS is directly correlated to if it's an iPhone or iPod touch, as touch owners have had to pay for most major updates.

Anyways, I'm one of the 51% on 3.0, actually 3.0.1. I just can't give up my jailbreak and tethering hack.
And I really want to be able save videos from email and MMS to my camera roll and save copies of trimmed videos instead of overwriting, but it's not enough. If Apple wanted us to update, they should have given us more.
Rebreak? No. But why put effort into fixing a problem that no one wanted to be fixed?
