The Long Term Evolution Standard, also known as 4G, is the next generation in cellular data after 3G, but AT&T is says not to hold your breath waiting for it to get to the U.S.

US Catching Up To European Countries In Percent Of 3G Subscribers

According to research firm comScore, America is beginning to catch up to Europe in the number of citizens that are subscribed to a high-speed 3G data network service thanks to the iPhone 3G. The firm reports that 28.4% of Americans right now currently have 3G devices, compared to an average 28.3% in the largest countries in Europe.
