TomTom has announced that they will be holding a special media event on September 22nd, according to the Twitter account of Dutch news site Bright.nl's. While the invitation doesn't go into what the media event is for, it is believed that they will finally announce the pricing for their TomTom turn-by-turn GPS navigation app.

Independent game developer Newtoy has just announced a new collaborative project with well-known game designer Ashley Wood to bring his WORLD WAR ROBOT universe to the iPhone and iPod touch. In the game, titled World War Robot, the human race is split by religion and politics in a war between Earth and Mars that combines politics, a dash of humor and giant fighting robots. What could be better?

iBluetooth, MeDevil's app for transferring files to and from your iPhone over a bluetooth connection, has entered beta testing stages and will hopefully be ready in the next few days, providing he can get the last few bugs out soon. The application will let users both send and recieve files over bluetooth, something Apple currently does not allow in their SDK. Users can chose which file to send and where to send it, or where to save an incoming file, and transfers can be stopped at any time. Screenshots after the break.

MTV.com recently interviewed id Software founder John Carmack, who revealed plans to bring three of their existing lines to the iPhone, as well as a bit on their original iPhone title currently in the works. Carmack said that Wolfenstein RPG is nearing completion, and Quake III is currently running on the device. He also said they hope to bring the whole Quake and Doom lines over at some point.

I know plenty of people aching for a native Wordpress blogging application for their iPhone, and Wordpress themselves have finally gotten close to giving us just that.
