Twitterrific

Iconfactory has announced Twitterrific 2.1 for the iPhone and iPod touch, the latest update for their incredibly popular Twitter client. Twitterrific 2.1 adds the ability to record and post video on an iPhone 3GS. It works the same way taking photos does and has the option to upload to yfrog, TwitVid or Posterous.

Many of you may know and love Twitterrific. It is a Twitter client for both the Mac and the iPhone. Craig Hockenberry, the brains behind the creation of Twitterrific, has been a little unsatisfied with the way other developers are pricing their applications on the App Store. Today, he spoke out about the pricing, and wrote an open letter to Steve Jobs.

Iconfactory released Twitterrific for iPhone v1.1 today, bringing with it a whole host of new features and bug fixes. Many of the added features address shortcomings and quirks found in the first version. Of note, the camera icon now asks whether you want to take a photo or select from your cameral roll and photos taken are saved to your iPhone before they're uploaded. Scrolling has been significantly sped up and many memory leaks have been plugged. Additionally, your scroll position doesn't change when exiting or refreshing the application. After iTunes version 7.7 became available last night, Apple has now turned the App Store on. It's currently up and running and available for app downloads. Applications will only work with the iPhone and iPod touch only after updating to the 2.0 software. Although currently unavailable using the "Check for updates" button in iTunes, the 2.0 software is technically available and can be downloaded manually. Additionally, most of the apps we've seen demoed by developers at WWDC and the March 6th event are represented in the store, including AOL Instant Messenger, Twitterrific, and Super Monkey Ball.
