Apple hopes to have the iPhone legitimately available to consumers in Thailand in the near future, but until then the black market for the device remains healthy. Currently an iPhone 3G in Bangkok goes for around $800, twice the average Thai's monthly salary and eight times the price in the U.S. Patrick Winn with GlobalPost took a deep look into the Thai iPhone black market. True Move, Thailand's third largest wireless carrier, claims to have signed a deal with Apple to bring the iPhone 3G to their country. If true, the deal would make the carrier the first to bring the iPhone to the Thai market, which is quickly expanding.
