So you think you're pretty great at Rock Band [App Store, $9.99] on your iPhone or iPod touch because you can beat your friends, eh? How about a machine? That's right, tough guy. Joe Bowers has created a machine with no purpose other than mastering Rock Band and putting us humans to shame doing so. It consists of a robotic "hand" that can detect changes in light, and it can play the game's highest level of difficulty without the help of us fleshy types.

After a fair amount of anticipation, Electronic Arts has released its Rock Band [App Store, $9.99] music game for the iPhone and iPod touch handsets. According to iLounge, Rock Band for iPhone and iPod touch has players attempting to time up taps on a set of four virtual picks or drum pads to a cascade of corresponding notes that fall vertically down the screen, or sing along to notes that travel horizontally from right to left, depending on whether the player chooses guitar, bass, drums, or vocals.

They may not have meant to do this, but it's out there and it's en route. Per Mobilecrunch, EA Mobile has inadvertently confirmed an upcoming version of Rock Band for the iPhone and iPod touch.
