A move that's likely going to infuriate quite a few of you, Apple (or more likely, AT&T) has decided to not pass on the subsidized iPhone 3G S price to current iPhone 3G owners. For iPhone 3G folks, a 16GB iPhone 3G S will cost $599.00 and a 32GB iPhone 3G S will cost $699.00. Original iPhone owners seem to be eligible for the subsidized pricing.

There's been no official word from Apple regarding the move, but Apple's website indicates that 3G owners are ineligible during in the iPhone purchasing process. See the image below.

T-Mobile Austria has dropped the price of the 8GB iPhone 3G from €99 to a surprising €1 when paired with a €45/month service contract, with no service payment for the first month, and offering a €45 discount for online orders. This is the lowest we've ever seen a new iPhone 3G going for anywhere in the world to date. [via MacNN]

In edition to the ability to download music on the iPhone 3G over the 3G network on AT&T, Apple also made several changes to the pricing and copy protection for the songs available. Today they announced that for the first time since the iTunes Music Store opened, pricing for songs would be divided into categories based on their age to determine their price.
