Now that people have realized that Steve Jobs wasn't going to make it back to Apple in time for WWDC to announce a new iPhone, analysts now believe the announcement will happen upon his return in late June. Piper Jaffray's Gene Munster now says he thinks Apple is planning a second event after WWDC to coincide with the return of Jobs, at which time a new iPhone and other big announcements will be revealed.

Despite growing to become the top music store in the U.S., the iTunes Music Store's early days pale in comparison to the rapid early growth and popularity of their App Store. Just this August, Steve revealed that over $30 million in revenue had been generated by the app distribution store and 60 million apps had been downloaded.

According to UBS Investment Research analyst Maynard Um, Apple is planning to expand their iPhone 3G line to include colors. He cites industry checks which point to Apple making the change in time for the 2008 holiday season, which corresponds to rumors of a Product Red iPhone 3G. He also claims that Apple is working on a whole new iPhone, which will be released in the first half of the following year.
