iPhone Claims 23% Of Smartphone Market In The U.S.

The latest survey by ChangeWave has found that the iPhone has risen in smartphone market share to 23%, up from the 11% they were found to have in July. The increase shows that they are quickly catching up to RIM, which remains the leader at 41%, and only slipped 1% in the same time.

iPhone 3G Boosting Global Smartphone Market

According to a research note by Needham analyst Charlie Wolf, the iPhone 3G has managed to rescue the world's smartphone market from a decline this past summer. It rose to claim roughly 16.6% of the world's smartphone market by the end of the most recent quarter back in September and places Apple beneath only Nokia.

NDP Group: iPhone Top US Cell Phone In Q3

It seems like just yesterday that we heard that the iPhone had become the second most popular handset today in the US, right behind Motorola's RAZR. Now a study by NPD Group finds that during Q3 this year the mighty Motorola king was finally dethroned and replaced by the Appleocracy that is the iPhone.

Report Says iPhone #2 Handset In US Overall

A few days ago we learned that the RAZR is still outselling the iPhone, but it may now be the only one. According to a report from NPD, the iPhone has leaped up in marketshare to become the overall second best selling handset in the United States. The new rank also makes it the most popular smartphone, leaving only Motorola's dumbphone, the RAZR V3, to stand in it's way from market dominance.
