South Korean iPhone Launch Could Change Regional Cellphone Market, Analyst Says

Saturday's South Korean iPhone launch could greatly affect the region's cellphone market. Per wireless carrier KT's advance order of 53,000 unites, a number described as "phenomenal" by Prudential analyst Hwang Sung-jin. "The iPhone's release will definitely stiffens competition for local companies such as Samsung and LG," Sung-jin adds.

LG Working With Apple On OLED iPhone Displays?

According to Australian tech website SmartHouse, LG will be working with Apple to create the next generation of iPhone displays. They say sources including some at LG in Korea have confirmed that Apple has paid them $500M to work on OLED display technology, as well as a method for reducing fingerprints left on the displays. It is said that the new displays will use their Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) technology.
