Trigger Voice Control Over Bluetooth

As many of you already know, the iPhone 3GS comes with an awesome feature called Voice Control. It lets you make calls or play music just by telling your iPhone what to do. To activate Voice Control, you press and hold the Home button. But what if you want to do something via Voice Control without looking at your iPhone?

Starting with iPhone 3.1, you can now use a Bluetooth headset to activate the feature. To do this, simply press the answer/end button on a paired Bluetooth headset while not on a call (be sure a call isn't coming in). Voice Control will be routed through your headset so that you can start a call without looking at your phone. Awesome! You can also do the same to begin playing music.

Apple Soliciting Battery Life Feedback from iPhone OS 3.1 Users

If you've been having trouble with your battery life on your iPhone running version 3.1 of the firmware, Apple cares. It's just being quiet about it. According to the iPhone blog, an undisclosed number of users who have posted on Apple’s discussion boards about poor battery life following the iPhone 3.1 software update are being contacted by AppleCare helpdesk with a hefty list of 11 follow-up questions.

AT&T not only may have been telling the truth about its upcoming MMS feature for the iPhone, but may be launching the feature ahead of schedule per MacRumors with The Unofficial Apple Weblog kicking in to say that several readers have reported that MMS has stated working for them.

Latest iPhone OS 3.1 Beta Points to Unknown Device

An updated USBConfiguration.plist file discovered in the most recent version of the iPhone OS 3.1 firmware beta offers evidence that Apple is continuing development on an unknown device. According to an ArsTechnica story, the product, referred to as "iProd", was first discovered in March and has since been updated as "1,1", which has led users to believe there is indeed an unknown product inside of Apple under active development running the iPhone OS.
