Sirius XM Announces XM SkyDock Adapter for iPhone, iPod Touch

On Thursday, satellite radio provider Sirius XM announced the launch of XM SkyDock, an accessory that will allow iPhone and iPod touch users to receive live XM and "The Best of Sirius" satellite radio in their vehicles. Per Digital Daily, the unit is scheduled to launch in the fall at suggested price of $119.99 and utilizes a vehicle's cigarette lighter power port to mount and power the device and iPhone or iPod touch.

Truphone Conflicting with iPhone OS 3.0, Fix Offered

Truphone, a mobile Voice over Internet Protocol application for the iPhone, is undergoing conflicts with Apple's recently-released iPhone OS 3.0 update. According to Macworld UK, an e-mail sent from the company to customers has stated that some users are now seeing the wrong application icon or the Truphone application icon not showing at all under the iPhone 3.0 Software Update.

iPhone OS 3.0 Mail Security Hole Revealed

A potential security hole in the iPhone OS 3.0 and 3.0.1 firmware has just surfaced via a YouTube video in which the host describes how, by searching for the title of a deleted message, the resulting screen displays two copies of the message; when either is selected for the first time, Mail crashes. According to MacNN, when the messages are selected a second time however, an iPhone will either display the original text, or a warning saying "This message cannot be displayed because of the way it is formatted."

iPhone 3.0's Photo-Taking Capabilities Greatly Improved?

In the midst of countless rumors regarding the next iPhone's camera capabilities, Gizmodo reports that iPhone 3.0 may bring improvements to the current iPhone's camera. The folks at iPhones.ru took some side-by-side photos to compare between 2.2.1 and 3.0. The results show quite an improvement in sharpness and exposure. Apple Seeds Updated iPhone OS 3.0 Beta [Update: 11 Pages Of Apps, Performance Improvements]

MacRumors reports that Apple has seeded the second version of the iPhone OS 3.0 beta to developers. There's no word on any major differences with the new update, but it's available to registered developers. It is interesting to see them release an update for it so soon, however.
