Google Improves Gmail, iGoogle For iPhone

Google has made some enhancements to Gmail and iGoogle for iPhone and Android. Now when you access Gmail on an iPhone or iPod touch, Gmail has faster address auto-completion. Now when you type the first few letters of the address you want or the name of the person, mobile Gmail will display a couple of possible answers from your contacts list.

Google Gives Reason For Removing iPhone iGoogle

As you might remember, Google removed the iPhone-optomized version of iGoogle last week. At the time of our article, we didn't know much about why it had been removed other than some vague speculation, but now we have a definite answer, as well as a possible workaround for accessing the iPhone-optomized site.

Google Removes iPhone-Optomized iGoogle Page

Roughly a year ago Google created an iPhone-optomized version of their iGoogle homepage for easier and more pleasant viewing on an iPhone. Unfortunately, for reasons they haven't disclosed, they have reverted it back to their standard web interfaces for mobile devices, going back to a stripped-down low-bandwidth version. We don't know why they did it, but we're sorry to see it go.
