Classics

Classics, a new kind of eBook reader for the iPhone and ipod touch, was released today by developer Tap Tap Tap. The new app offerers a more realistic book-reading experience. The interface uses graphics and sound effects to mimic the sensation of browsing through a real book shelf to find a book and turning through pages of real paper. The app is available at an introductory price of $2.99 in the App Store.

Lemonade Stand, a classic economics computer game from the Apple II days, is currently being remade for the iPhone by Maverick Software's Glenda Adams. She says she's keeping the original gameplay and economics, but decided to ditch the original lo-fi graphics (shown to the side) for something a little more up to date.

Classics is a new application by Andrew Kaz and Phill Ryu which aims to bring classic books to the iPhone. Featuring a gorgeous and intuitive interface by Sebastiaan de With and David Lanham, Classics comes with a slew of classic titles sure to entice even the most casual of readers. Books bundled with the app are all in the public domain and include Alice In Wonderland, The Time Machine, 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea, and many more.
