Documents To Go Gets Cut, Copy & Paste, Pinch To Zoom Word Files, iWork 09 Support

DataViz has updated Documents To Go, their app for reading MS Office documents and editing MS Word documents on the iPhone, adding features for OS 3.0. Version 1.1 adds cut, copy and paste; pinch to zoom and full screen view in Word files; the ability to send files via email with clients other than Microsoft Exchange; and viewing and syncing of iWork 09 files for Mac users.

After a great deal of anticipation from consumer and business users alike, DataViz has finally released Documents To Go for the iPhone and iPod touch, adding the ability to edit Microsoft Word documents on the iPhone and iPod touch at long last, as well as the ability to view view Excel, PowerPoint, PDF and Apple iWork-created files. Microsoft Excel spreadsheet editing will also be added as a free update for all customers.

QuickOffice Suite Of Office Software Released For iPhone, iPod Touch

Quickoffice has released Quickoffice Mobile Office Suite [$19.99] their suite of office software for the iPhone and iPod touch. The suite includes three apps that offer computability with documents from Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel, as well as an office email client. (Details after the break.)

It also requires their free desktop controller client, but it's WIndows-only.

Snow Leopard Server To Offer Secure Enterprise Features For iPhone?

One of the WWDC 2009 sessions posted on Apple's website is believed to reveal secure corporate email, contacts, calendar, and intranet web services for the iPhone and iPod touch in Apple's upcoming OS X Snow Leopard Server software. While Apple's Snow Leopard Server page mentions a Remote Access" feature, it only vaguely describes it as enabling "push notifications to mobile users outside your firewall" and a proxy service that gives "secure remote access to email, address book contacts, calendars, and select internal websites."

Citrix To Bring Desktop Virtualization To iPhone

Citrix has announced that they are nearing completion of a product that will deliver desktop virtualization to the iPhone and other smartphones next year. Both Mac and PC users will have the ability to access the same desktop session that they would if they were on their computer using the Citrix App Reciever.
