Aurora Feint

So Aurora Feint created a big fuss when it was discovered that it was collecting contacts information on users' iPhones. They said they didn't use them for anything diabolical, but there was really no way to be sure that they're not, even if they were telling the truth (which they probably were). So, to alleviate concerns, they have updated their game to eliminate any potential privacy or security problems, and are now back in the App Store once again.

Earlier we talked about a game for the iPhone, Aurora Feint, that was collecting the information from users' contacts lists into files stored locally on the device that is periodically sent to their server when a community feature is accessed. Needless to say this created quite a stir, and raised some serious privacy concerns. Because of this, Apple has temporarily pulled the app from the App Store.

We've already seen one app with apparent privacy issues that has fortunately been fixed, but now another one has come to our attention that has people wondering just how safe their contacts' information really is. Aurora Feint, a game available in the App Store, collects the information in their contacts and stores them locally in a file on the device.
